How to Add Users to Your Google Analytics Account

This quick guide shows you how to securely add users to your Google Analytics account, so your marketing team or partners can access reports, track performance, and help optimize your website—without sharing your personal login.

If you're working with a marketing agency like Towne Post Digital or simply want to give others access to view your website performance, you’ll need to add users to your Google Analytics account. Granting user access allows others to view reports, analyze data, or manage account settings—without sharing your personal login information.

The good news? Adding users is quick and secure.

Step-by-Step: Adding Users to Google Analytics

1. Log In to Google Analytics

Visit https://analytics.google.com and sign in with the Google account associated with your website.

2. Select the Correct Account

If you manage multiple websites, make sure you're working within the correct Google Analytics account for your business.

3. Go to Admin Settings

In the lower-left corner of your screen, click the gear icon labeled Admin.

4. Choose Account, Property, or View Access

You can add users at different levels depending on what access they need:

  • Account level: Access to all properties and views within the account

  • Property level: Access to a specific website or app's data

  • View level: Access to a filtered view of specific data

We typically recommend Property level access for marketing partners.

5. Click Account Settings → Account Access Management

For Property-level access, go to Property Settings → Property Access Management.

6. Add Users

Click the blue + button in the top-right corner, then select Add users.

7. Enter Email Addresses

Add the email addresses of the people you want to grant access to (e.g., support@townepost.com).

8. Assign Permissions

Choose the appropriate permissions:

  • Viewer: Can see reports and data

  • Analyst: Viewer access + ability to create and share reports

  • Editor: Can make configuration changes

  • Administrator: Full access, including managing users

We recommend at least Editor access for your Towne Post Digital team to ensure proper tracking setup and troubleshooting.

9. Send Invitation

Click Add to send the invite. The user will receive an email to accept access.
